Postpartum Doula Services

Our society doesn’t prioritize recovery and rest during the immediate postpartum period. We are encouraged to get up, get moving, and get “back to normal”. But the body needs time to heal. You need nourishing, hearty foods to restore you. Parents (and partners) need mental and physical space to bond with their baby and adjust to their new role, new self. This is where I can come alongside you and help create that space.

My Postpartum Support Packages are tailored to your direct needs. The list below can give you a decent idea of what can be included.

  • Access to my library of resources

  • Up to 2 planning visits during the antenatal period

  • In-home or Virtual support sessions, may include:

    • Lactation/Infant Feeding Support

    • Household Task support

    • Infant Care

    • Older Child Care

    • Meal Preparation or Provision

    • Troubleshooting/Q&A time

    • Partner Support

I like to show up to postpartum visits with a nourishing meal or beverage for the birthing person. I am happy to assist and support with any range of things that make space for the birthing person to rest, receive reassurance, and prioritize recovery. I am also trained to recognize and respond to symptoms of postpartum mental health issues in both gestational parents and their partners.

I do not at this time provide overnight support, but am happy to refer you to professionals in the area who may be able to do that.

“you're settling into a body that has stretched beyond comprehension, a heart space that is expanding, and a family that has been forever reconfigured.”

Prenatal Support

Pregnancy is a beautiful time, but it can also be very stressful for parents-to-be. The medical system can be difficult to navigate. There are so many questions that come up when you are expecting a new baby. The information available from your medical provider may be confusing or simply not enough. The internet is a sea of information that one can quickly become lost in. You may be facing systematic barriers to care due to your race, ethnicity, gender identity or sexual orientation.

I can meet you where you are and help you navigate this amazing and exciting time in your family’s life!

Doula support through the prenatal period may include:

  • Up to 10 in person or virtual meetings

  • Doctor visit prep and debriefing (we can discuss what questions to ask, how to respond to their questions, options available to you, and navigate together from an educated position any concerns that may arise).

  • Birth Mapping

  • Prenatal Nutrition and Fitness consultation

  • Personalized Labor, Childbirth, and Basic Infant Feeding & Care course for you and a support person

  • Access to my library of resources

  • Q&A, direction towards specific classes and resources

  • Meal preparation and home preparation ahead of baby’s arrival

  • Preparation of a postpartum recovery kit for the parents

  • Surrogacy & Adoption support

  • Resources and support for siblings

If you choose to have my support during the prenatal period, we can discuss whether it may be a good fit for me to support your birth. At this time, I am not offering standalone birth support in order to protect time with my own family. I am happy to refer to a local doula who can meet this need.

If you are a member of the LGBTQIA+ community and are seeking birth support, please schedule a consultation and we can work from there.
